In summer 2018, I lived for three months in Vietnam. And it was also during this summer, I discovered packing cubes. Ever since my summer with these amazing cubes, I’ve never looked back.
Packing cubes are literally just bags that take on the shape of a rectangle. You put your items in them and they keep everything organized.
I personally love them because they changed the way I travel. When I packed for Vietnam, I packed a decent amount of clothes. I had:
When I unpacked, four drawers and two shelves in my apartment were full. That’s how many clothes I had. Packing cubes consolidated my clothes into four compressed bags. It was amazing! Because of them, my suitcase didn’t look unorganized. There was room left over, and I could tell what was actually in my suitcase.
I was amazed because of how much they could hold.
I don’t just use packing cubes for my checked luggage. I use them for short term travel, even when I just have a carryon. They do a great job keeping my things organized.
Good quality packing cubes can hold a ton of stuff. Be sure not to pack too much, because it can make your suitcase overweight. This, in turn, can cause you to pay extra baggage fees. Be sure to weigh your bags before you go to the airport.
