The terms scholarships and fellowships are sometimes used interchangeably. The main difference between a scholarship and fellowship is that fellowships will more likely have a service component or internship that participants need to fulfill. With scholarships, participants normally do not have to fulfill a service component or internship. Fellowships can range from months to years. Scholarships on the other hand, are usually for a shorter period of time.
