Hey Travelers! I went on the most epic Brazil street food tour there is! This food tour was DELICIOUS and I left leaving so satisfied! My culinary journey began in the colorful streets of Rio de Janeiro’s Lapa neighborhood.
The adventure began with the refreshing sweetness of sugarcane juice, which set the tone for a delicious rest of the day. After drinking the refreshing sugarcane juice, I moised through the lively food market where fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat were being sold on either side of me. After walking through the market, I was able to savor the taste of exotic and unique fruits.
The fruits were only the beginning! I then dived into the heart of Brazilian breakfast with a taste of the beloved tapioca sandwich, layered with cheese and oregano. This local delight was so savvory and delicious.
Just when I was begining to feel full, I then went to the Nova Capella restaurant to experience the rich flavors of Portuguese-inspired dishes. These dishes included iconic codfish balls and succulent lamb paired with broccoli rice. As if I didn’t have any more room, I ate a pastry for desert. It was all so very good!
I was able all my food down at Nova Capella with a Caipirinha, Brazil’s signature drink, made with sugar, lime, ice, and Cachaça. The video wraps up with me visiting to a popular açaí place, offering a perfect finale to this amazing gastronomic experience.
This food tour was more than just a feast for my taste buds. It was a captivating way to explore Rio de Janeiro’s food scene. Through this food tour, I got a taste of the local breakfast scene, Portuguese influences, and the signature flavors that make Brazilian cuisine so unique. If you are ever in a new city, I highly recommend going on a food tour. You learn so much about a place through their food.
