Hey Travelers! I have an amazing clothes hack that you need to know about! Today, I am going to share with you how to dewrinkle your clothes using a dryer. Once I learned the trick of using a dryer to get rid of wrinkles in my clothes, my life has never been the same again. If you’ve ever found yourself in a wrinkle emergency, just like I did when my sister-in-law tied the knot, this post and video is for you.
So, it was the morning of my sister-in-law’s wedding and my bridesmaid dress was so wrinkly. I didn’t have a steamer, the iron wasn’t really working, and I certainly did not have time to go do the dry cleaner’s. What’s a girl to do?
Well, fortunately, I had the perfect solution which involved something you probably have in your freezer – ice cubes!
Here’s what I did. I grabbed a couple handfuls of ice cubes from the freezer. Then I took my wrinkled bridesmaid’s dress and tossed it in the dryer. Next, I sprinkled the ice cubes on top of the dress and turn the dryer on and watched the magic unfold (actually, I didn’t sit and watch the dress. I got ready and did other things around the house. That’s why I love this method)! As the ice cubes melted, they turned into steam, working their magic to smooth out those annoying wrinkles.
My bridesmaid dress was pretty thick. So, it took about 30 minutes or so to get all the wrinkles out. Just check on your dress. If there are still wrinkles and it needs more time you can always increase the time and add more ice cubes.
This also works for most everyday clothes. Usually when I have to go somewhere and I’m short on time, I’ll toss my clothes in the dryer with ice cubes for about 10 – 20 minutes while I’m taking a shower. Then when I get out of the shower, I have warm, wrinkle free clothes. It is so amazing!
This little trick saved the day for me, and I couldn’t keep it to myself. So, share the love, and let your friends in on the secret. For more handy tips that make life easier, don’t forget to follow Hey Ms. Traveler.
