Hey Travelers! I wanted to see how far $10 would go on Ipanema Beach. It surprised me how many delicious treats I could buy with $10. This was a fun experiment that allowed me to try Rio’s beach food, which I hadn’t previously tried before. Will I stay within budget? Join me on a beach adventure!

Here are the delicious treasures that I bought while I was at Ipanema Beach. With $10 in hand, you can indulge in the following mouthwatering delights:
- Corn on the Cob: Delight in a steaming hot ear of corn, slathered with butter and sprinkled with salt. It’s a simple yet satisfying snack. (7 reais – $1.40)
- Popsicle: There is nothing better than a cold popsicle on a hot summer day at the beach. In terms of prices, there was definitely an upcharge for the popsicle but it was worth it to cool down. (13 reais – $2.60)
- Matte Leao Tea: When you come to Brazil, you have to try their Matte Leao tea. It is refreshing anytime. But it tastes especially good on the beach. (5 reais – $1)
- Globo Cookie: This was my first time trying a Globo cookie in Rio. These delicious treats are light and crunchy. It doesn’t remind me of a cookie, but it certainly is good. (5 reais – $1)
- Coconut Water: Kick off your beach day with refreshing coconut water. It’s a quintessential Brazilian experience and a fantastic way to quench your thirst under the sun. (6 reais – $1)
