How To Get Through The Airport Quickly

Airports can be stressful. Here are a few tips to get through the airport quickly.

Know Your Terminal

You can find the terminal number in your email confirmation. Knowing which terminal your flight takes off from can be a time saver because you won’t waste time wandering around.

Pre Check In To Get Through The Airport Quickly

If the option is available to you, check-in before your flight. You can check-in online through the airline’s app, usually 24 hours before your flight time. Checking-in can save you time. If you don’t have bags, you can go straight to security. If you have bags, some airlines may have a bag drop or curbside check in to expedite the process. Check with your airline carrier.

Some airlines will also let you choose your seat when you check-in. If you check-in early enough, you may be able to board earlier and get your preferred seat.

No Overweight Suitcases

Before you get to the airport make sure your suitcase meets the airline’s weight requirements. If your suitcase is overweight and you’re not okay with paying extra fees, you might be in the lobby trying to rearrange your suitcase so that it meets the weight requirement.

Better yet, just bring a carry on. When you just have a carry on, you don’t have to check any suitcases. This helps you go through the airport quickly because you don’t have to wait in line.

Easy Access To Get Through Airport Quickly

When you get to the airport, make sure you’re able to access your license/passport, credit card (or debit card), and boarding pass easily.

Security

• Follow the Transporation Security Administration (TSA) officer’s instructions.
• Don’t bring a full bottle of water. Bring an empty bottle and you can fill it up when you get past security.
• Keep jewelry to a minimum.
• Make sure liquids, gels, and aerosols are in bottles or containers no larger than 3.4 oz. For more information on the TSA’s liquid rule, check out their website.
• Listen to TSA officer’s instructions about other electronics.
• Wear socks in case you have to take off your shoes.
